“THE ASSOCIATION WILL: PROMOTE HUMAN RIGHTS, AS SET OUT IN THE 1948 UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS AND SUBSEQUENT UNITED NATIONS INSTRUMENTS, INCLUDING THE 1989 CONVENTION ON THE RIGHTS OF THE CHILD, TO FURTHER FREEDOM, JUSTICE, AND PEACE IN THE WORLD AND IN LOCAL COMMUNITIES, BY ALL OR ANY OF THE FOLLOWING MEANS: 3.1. RESEARCH INTO HUMAN RIGHTS ISSUES AND HUMAN RIGHTS EDUCATION. 3.1.1 HUMAN RIGHTS-RELATED RESEARCH ADDRESSING POLICY AND PRACTICE ACROSS EDUCATIONAL SETTINGS SUCH AS KINDERGARTENS, SCHOOLS, COLLEGES, UNIVERSITIES AND INFORMAL LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS. 3.1.2 PUBLICATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS-RELATED RESEARCH IN THE ASSOCIATION’S JOURNAL HUMAN RIGHTS EDUCATION REVIEW (HRER), THEREBY ADDING TO THE STORE OF HUMAN KNOWLEDGE ABOUT HUMAN RIGHTS AND HUMAN RIGHTS EDUCATION. 3.1.3 DISSEMINATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS-RELATED RESEARCH THROUGH CONFERENCES AND WEBINARS. 3.1.4 STRENGTHENING RESEARCH ON HUMAN RIGHTS EDUCATION THROUGH PROFESSIONAL, SCHOLARLY AND CROSS-DISCIPLINARY DIALOGUE. 1 3.2 EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ABOUT HUMAN RIGHTS BY: 3.2.1 ORGANISING ACTIVITIES SUCH AS CONFERENCES AND WEBINARS THAT BRING BENEFITS TO THE WIDER COMMUNITY. RAISING AWARENESS OF THE BENEFITS TO ALL OF COMMITMENTS TO HUMAN RIGHTS BY THE STATE AND ITS AGENTS (INCLUDING TEACHERS AND HEALTH PROFESSIONALS) AS A MEANS OF CREATING SUSTAINABLE, EQUITABLE, AND INCLUSIVE COMMUNITIES THAT VALUE DIVERSITY, AND GUARANTEE AND PROTECT THE RIGHTS OF ALL. 3.2.2 GIVING PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO THE EDUCATION OF CHILDREN, YOUTH, TEACHERS AND OTHER PROFESSIONALS, WHO ACT AS MULTIPLIERS. 3.2.3 PROVIDING INFORMATION CONCERNING THE APPLICABILITY OF RIGHTS TO ALL, INCLUDING MARGINALISED GROUPS, IN OUR JOURNAL HUMAN RIGHTS EDUCATION REVIEW, THROUGH WEBINARS, AND CONFERENCES. 3.2.4 PUBLISHING INFORMATION ABOUT RIGHTS AND DATA ABOUT CURRENT UNDERSTANDINGS OF RIGHTS RELATING TO VARIED PROFESSIONS. 3.2.5 INVESTIGATING, EVALUATING AND DISSEMINATING PRACTICES CONDUCIVE TO CHILDREN’S EFFECTIVE LEARNING ABOUT HUMAN RIGHTS. 3.2.6 INVESTIGATING, EVALUATING AND DISSEMINATING PRACTICES CONDUCIVE TO TEACHERS’ EFFECTIVE LEARNING ABOUT HUMAN RIGHTS. 3.2.7 PROMOTING ETHICAL CODES OF PRACTICE AMONG EDUCATION PROFESSIONALS, AND IN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS, IN LINE WITH HUMAN RIGHTS STANDARDS THROUGH RESEARCH, PUBLICATION AND DISSEMINATION. 3.2.8 SUPPORTING THE LEGAL LITERACY OF TEACHERS AND OTHERS OUTSIDE THE LEGAL PROFESSION TO STRENGTHEN EDUCATION ABOUT HUMAN RIGHTS AT ALL LEVELS OF FORMAL EDUCATION FROM KINDERGARTEN TO UNIVERSITIES. 3.2.9 INVOLVING CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANISATIONS (LOCAL, NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL) BY INVITING REPRESENTATIVES TO ATTEND CONFERENCES AND WEBINARS AND CONTRIBUTE TO THESE, AS APPROPRIATE. 3.3 RAISE AWARENESS OF HUMAN RIGHTS BY: 3.3.1 FACILITATING DEBATE AND DISCUSSION ABOUT HUMAN RIGHTS AND HUMAN RIGHTS EDUCATION THROUGH OUR PUBLICATIONS, CONFERENCES AND WEBINARS. 2 3.3.2 EXTENDING DEBATE AND DISCUSSION ABOUT HUMAN RIGHTS BY COOPERATING WITH CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANISATIONS AND MAKING AVAILABLE TO THEM RESEARCH ABOUT HUMAN RIGHTS. 3.3.3 DEVELOPING TWO-WAY CHANNELS OF COMMUNICATION WITH CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANISATIONS RELATING TO NEW KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES ABOUT EFFECTIVE WAYS OF EDUCATING THE PUBLIC, USING OUR CONFERENCES AND WEBINARS. 3.4 PROMOTE PUBLIC SUPPORT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS BY: 3.4.1 DISTRIBUTING MATERIALS THAT PROMOTE PUBLIC SUPPORT FOR EQUALITY, DIVERSITY AND HUMAN RIGHTS AND HIGHLIGHT STATE FAILURES TO UPHOLD HUMAN RIGHTS AND HUMAN RIGHTS EDUCATION. 3.4.2 CULTIVATING OPINIONS ON HUMAN RIGHTS STRUGGLES OF INDIVIDUALS AND COMMUNITIES. 3.4.3 ADVOCATING ADOPTION OF, AND COMPLIANCE WITH, INTERNATIONAL AND REGIONAL CODES OF HUMAN RIGHTS, AND THE INCORPORATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS STANDARDS INTO DOMESTIC LAW. IN FURTHERANCE OF THIS OBJECT BUT NOT OTHERWISE, THE TRUSTEES SHALL HAVE POWER TO ENGAGE IN POLITICAL ACTIVITY PROVIDED THAT THE TRUSTEES ARE SATISFIED THAT THE PROPOSED ACTIVITIES WILL FURTHER THE PURPOSES OF THE CHARITY TO AN EXTENT JUSTIFIED BY THE RESOURCES COMMITTED AND THE ACTIVITY IS NOT THE DOMINANT MEANS BY WHICH THE CHARITY CARRIES OUT ITS OBJECTS.
