The objects of the cio are:to advance such charitable purposes (according to the law of england and wales) as the trustees see fit from time to time including but not limited to advancing for the benefit of the public:the conservation protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment,the advancement of education in the subjects of conservation, biodiversity and sustainability, by undertaking and promoting research in this subject and making the useful results of such research available to the public.the cio shall further its purposes principally (though not exclusively) by making grants to third parties.nothing in this constitution shall authorise an application of the property of the cio for the purposes which are not charitable in accordance with section 7 of the charities and trustee investment (scotland) act 2005 and section 2 of the charities act (northern ireland) 2008.
